Before and after

Where HR admin usually hurts

  • Before

Employee details live in a spreadsheet and contracts in a shared drive. Nobody is sure which contract is the current one, or when someone’s probation ends.

    With Mira HR

Each employee has one profile with their contract history and employment record: renewals, hire date, probation, last working day and transfers between legal entities, each with its dates.

  • Before

Leave balances are counted by hand at year-end, carry-over is argued over, and nobody is sure which leave types the law actually requires.

    With Mira HR

Leave types start from a preset for the UAE or Egypt. Balances accrue and carry over, unused days can be encashed at exit, and every request goes through approval.

  • Before

A visa or a contract expires, and HR finds out when the employee cannot travel or the end date has already passed.

    With Mira HR

Alerts watch document, contract and probation expiry, and you can add your own rules for anything else your team needs to track.

Features

Everything your HR records need

Employee profiles with contract and employment history

Every person in the company has a single profile: personal details, position, department, legal entity and contract. Contracts keep their history, so a renewal is added next to the earlier contract instead of overwriting it. Employment periods record the hire date, probation, the last working day and transfers between your legal entities, so you can see when someone joined and which of your companies employed them. Bringing your team over does not mean typing everyone in: import people and your org structure from an Excel or CSV file and start from there.

  • One profile per employee: position, department, legal entity and contract
  • Contract history, with renewals kept next to earlier contracts
  • Employment periods: hire, probation, last day and legal-entity transfers
  • Import people and org structure from Excel or CSV

Org structure, positions and several legal entities

Build your structure from departments and positions and see it as an org chart, from the leadership team down to every line manager. Many groups in the region run a UAE company and an Egyptian company side by side: Mira HR keeps them as separate legal entities in one account, each with its own statutory identifiers, while your people and your structure stay in one place.

  • Departments, positions and heads of department
  • Interactive org chart
  • Multiple legal entities in the UAE and Egypt
  • Statutory identifiers kept on each legal entity

Time off with presets for the UAE and Egypt

Set up time off from a preset instead of from a blank page: pick the UAE preset, which creates eight leave types based on Decree-Law 33/2021, or the Egyptian preset, which creates nine leave types based on Labour Law 14/2025, most with a reference to their article, and the leave types are created for you. Balances accrue over the year, unused days carry over by your rules, and remaining days can be encashed when someone leaves. Requests go to approval, and HR sees every request with its type, period, duration and status in one list.

  • Presets: UAE Decree-Law 33/2021 and Egyptian Labour Law 14/2025
  • Accrual and carry-over of balances, encashment at exit
  • Approval for every request
  • Every request with its type, period and status in one list

Team calendar and work calendar

The team calendar shows who is out on any day, grouped by department, together with company events, so you can plan around a busy week before it happens. Subscribe to it from your own calendar app through an iCal feed. The work calendar holds your working week and the public holidays you add each year.

  • Who is out, day by day, grouped by department
  • Company events on the same calendar
  • iCal feeds for your own calendar app
  • Work calendar and holidays that you maintain

Company assets

Keep track of laptops, phones, access cards and anything else you hand out. Each item is issued to an employee, who acknowledges receiving it, and returned when it is no longer needed. If something is not returned when a person leaves, its value can be deducted at exit instead of being written off.

  • Issue and return of assets
  • Employee acknowledgement on receipt
  • Deduction at exit for unreturned items

Chat, tasks and a knowledge base

Day-to-day work stays next to your HR records. The messenger has channels, direct messages, threads, mentions and search. Tasks are organised into projects with kanban boards. The knowledge base keeps policies and guides in spaces, with versions of every page and search across them, so the answer to “how many days of leave do I have” is one link away.

  • Knowledge base: spaces, page versions and search

Roles, permissions and secure sign-in

Decide who sees what with roles and permissions, and use view-as to see exactly what a given person can open. People can sign in with Google, turn on two-factor authentication and see their active sessions.

FAQ

Core HR questions

What is included in Core HR?

Employee profiles, org structure, legal entities, time off, the team and work calendars, assets, chat, tasks, the knowledge base, alerts, roles and permissions. Payroll, Time & Attendance, Performance management and Learning are separate modules you can add when you need them.

Can we manage a UAE company and an Egyptian company in one account?

Yes. Each company is a separate legal entity with its own statutory identifiers, and both live in the same Mira HR account with one directory and one org chart.

How do we move our employee data in?

Import people and your org structure from an Excel or CSV file, so you do not have to type everyone in by hand. After the import, each employee has a profile you can complete and keep up to date.

Are UAE and Egyptian public holidays loaded for us?

Coming soon. Today you add public holidays to the work calendar yourself. Pre-loaded holiday calendars for the UAE and Egypt are planned.

Which leave types are in the presets?

The UAE preset creates eight leave types based on Decree-Law 33/2021, and the Egyptian preset creates nine leave types based on Labour Law 14/2025, most with a reference to their article. Pick the UAE or Egyptian preset and the leave types are created for you; then adjust accrual, carry-over and approval to your own policy.

Is Core HR free for small teams?

Teams of up to 3 people can use Core HR for free. Larger teams pay per employee per month; the pricing page has the details.

Does Mira HR work in Arabic?

Yes. The interface works in Arabic, right to left, as well as in English.
